My journey to dermal fillers was something I never pictured myself doing, but I'm glad I did since it provided me a head start in the business world. I'd always wanted to work in the beauty profession after seeing my mother do it, but I never took the plunge. I saw an ad on Instagram offering training for non-medical professionals to go into dermal aesthetics and decided to give it a try out of the blue. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
My time at university studying how to work with a brand or a personal brand in marketing has given me a lot of insight into how I need to advertise my business and the correct target audience.

I've taken advantage of my experience and created an Instagram page where I publish my work as well as any information that clients should be aware of. I design all of my social media postings using a website called Canva. It's simple to use, and I've been using it for three years. It's a creative website where you can be as inventive as you want.
It being a significant hobby for me, I envision myself working in this industry. I enjoy getting up every day to meet new clients while also working on my businesses marketing. I've also created a new Facebook account, where I've posted photos and important information, although it's still in the works.

I realised I was just targeting a younger audience when I first started my business, but as it grew, I found that when I was talking to people at my current job, some of my mother's friends, and clients, a lot more older women needed dermal fillers as well. I discovered that the age group of 18-34 was the most popular through my Instagram promotions. Considering the fact I know from my university experience that the older generation is much more aware of Facebook, I decided to create a Facebook account to communicate to them as well. So far its going okay but it still needs a lot more work through my marketing.
